Find the serial number, it is hand printed in fine black ink to the side and parallel to the Sage label. The begining letter specifies the year of manufacture.
Post that info and we can tell you when it was made, that will lead you to the generation and type of graphite.

Hello,
I have this rod. Bought it in 1990, and I think it came on the market in Norway in the late 80's. It is a graphite II rod and in Norway it is the second generation of Sages two-handed rods. At the time there were two models available over here, the 16' and the 14' 9wt. Both are in my opinion excellent casting and fishing tools.
