I am going to go down to the rogue river for 3 or 4 days.
Camping and all the fun stuff, I just do not know what part to go
to for steelhead this time of year!
then on the news it shows all that smoke blowing up from the Oregon / California boarder
I was thinking maybe down around the section where the Illinois river meets the rogue river!
But I have not been on this river for close to 25 years now

any advice??

Bill

I just saw on the local news channel that the road is closed from Galice Creek to Graves Creek, so access is going to be sketchy at best.

Best check with sources before venturing out. Might be a short trip!

The Bureau of Land Management today issued a closure order for recreation areas along portions of the Rogue River. The order does not affect river operations, however access to the river is limited in the closed area. Information is available from http//
www.blm.gov/or/districts/medford/newsroom/index.php.

From Silverton, I would think you could find steel closer than the Rogue. Willamette? North Umpqua? Maybe even the Klickitat? Think you’ve got options.
