The LS2 1307 sold. Thanks Mitch!

There is a lot of interest in the Loop Yellow 8124. Here is what I know about it. I bought it about 4yrs ago...At the time I wasn't aware of multiple versions of these rods being available, I just liked my 9140 so much that I wanted to try the 8124. Since then its become obvious that there are cosmetic differences between the rods thru the years...I'm not sure about the casting differences between the different version of the 8124 as I think this rod casts like my 9140 does just lighter. I like the CND GPS 8/9 on the 9140 and the CND GPS 7/8 on the 8124. I've never tried a skagit head on the 9140 but the 8124 casts great with a 570 compact skagit and the 540 intermediate compact skagit.

I know someone that has a 2012 version and I've had them side by side. My 8124 doesn't look like his 2012 version...the print on the butt section is different (mine does not have the grain window, his did), the reel seats are different (mine is round, his was hexagonal or something...honestly I can't remember but I do remember it being different from both of my yellow rods), and the wraps on my rod are not the orangish-yellow color.

That being said it doesn't match my 2004 era Yellow 9140...again the print on the butt section doesn't quite match and the reel seats are different but the thread wraps are the same color.

The 2004'ish 9140 reel seat has no print and has a double locking ring with a non-threaded reel ring...the 2009'ish era 8124 has the Loop logo printed in white and has a single locking ring with a rubber o-ring between the locking ring and the threaded reel ring.

2004'ish era 9140 Print: Loop Logo with Adapted Graphite 4-6 underneath the logo followed by Yellow Line 14'0"-4 PCS #9 with gold thread wraps at each end of text area.

2009'ish era 8124 Print: Loop Logo followed by Yellow Line 12'4" #8-9 with silver thread wraps at each end of text area.

As a comparison here are a couple of pics of my 2004'ish era 9140 on top and the 2009'ish era 8124 on the bottom in the opposite layout.

The sections are:
- the butt section to show the difference in the reel seats,
- the section above the butt section to show the rod wraps are the same color
- the tip section on top to show that the tips are the same

I hope this helps answer everyone's questions.

Thanks for everyone's interest,
Christian
