Yes I understand this is most likely backwards, but she is precious and needs to be on the water. As the TFO Deer Creek 11-7 and Beulah Platinum Spey 13’2” see less time, the TH trout for buggers, soft hackles etc. are appealing. What are the appropriate rods for this Hardy reel. I fish the mid-willamette valley rivers, Deschutes, Rogue, coastal rivers for SRC and 1/2 pounders after the smoke clears. Appreciate your experience and expertise.

I’m not very familiar with the reel but I fish a Meiser 11’ 4/5HC on the Deschutes and it’s awesome. Could go down to a 3/4 if you wanted to go light. I like the 4/5 because it handles the strong fish and wind very well. I’m sure your princess would look great on a Meiser.

It is perfect match, IMHO, to a 3 wt switch rod.

Thank you, I will keep an eye on the classified ads for a 3-4 switch.

I cant reccomend the 11'7" Meiser S rods enough. I have the 4 weight and it's an absolute joy with a 300 grain scandi or 300 grain opst commando and ~10 ft of t8. I'm sure the 3 weight would be just as lovely.
