Hello! Does anyone can comment my choice as for the beginner : Loop Green Line 9132 equipped with SA spey short head 9/10. Or do I need to go for same line in 8/9? Thank you.

............Bushi, you'll love that rod! Haven't used a SA line on it, a WC8/9/10 works well, also a Loop Quattro at 660grains is good. Tips don't bother it, in the winter in high water I'll put 20' of T-14 on the butt of the WC. No problem.

I was interested in trying a SA Short with my Norway 13´ 7/9 (really an 8/9) and found that the SA Short 7/8 would be a perfect match, which would be roughly the same grain/gram weight as an 8/10 WC. However, I chickened out and went for the WC which I know is a great line.

Since that Loop rod is a 9/10, maybe the SA short 8/9 would be a fine match? The rule with these lines seems to be to go one size under the rod.
