Thanks to the fine people at RIO we've been given permission to reproduce this excellent diagram that appears on page 78 of "Basic Spey & Two Handed Fly Rod Casting," the booklet written by Jim Vincent with Simon Gawesworth that is enclosed with every RIO Spey line. This is a handy diagram helpful for anyone trying to figure out which of the more common Spey casts to use in a given situation. For clarification, "Left Bank" is the same as "River Left," while "Right Bank" refers to "River Right."

Dana, all

Thanks Dana!

For those of us who are Spey Deficient, you can send your self an e mail with this html in the email.

http://www.flyfishingforum.com/flytalk3/attachment.php?s=&postid=44697

When you get your own email, with most urls, you can use your cursor to tap the html code, in most cases it will be in blue, and it should bring you to this chart.

Then you can print it out and preserve in plastic at an Office Depot copy center or a competitor. That way, you can have it with you while fishing.
