Hey guys, just a few questions about the Rio versitip II, I need some convincing before shelling out the big bucks for these versitip lines. I really enjoy the way the scandi versitips handle on my bigger rods and thought that this line would work well as a shorter scandi/skandit for my trout spey. Thoughts?

to loop or not to loop.......

that is the question.Mike I think the only advantage to that line is the integrated shooting line. The Scandi Short Versitip system comes in a 4 wt. I do believe. If that is light enough for you I think it would fly a little better with the longer front taper and the choice of putting a thinner slicker shooter behind it. But then there is the loop to loop between the head and shooter with Scandi which isn't always the best............certainly is a tough choice.

I have the Versa tip lines and they cast well but the loops are too big and catch on the rod eyes. I use a 360 gr. Versa tip on my 5/6 deer creek and I cast 90 ft with it so I guess it's well.
