I have attended all of the Sandy Spey Clave. I have seen a great growth in the casting abilities since the first Clave. At the first clave most of the attendees casting were basically poor with large, rounded loops and no skill in any of the set-up move just a switch cast. Each year the casting got better. Now this year as I looked out over the grass area and down at the river, loops where well formed by a majority of casters and I saw a good understanding of set-up moves. There has been great progress by the spey community as a whole. Much thanks should go to the SSC Crew for continuing this event. The "Woodstock" of spey casting has been a great contributor to the advancement of spey casting.
