Just looking for opinions on what reel would suit a 7wt beulah platinum switch well. I'm looking into a new rod and would like to have my set up figured out before I go ahead and buy the rod.
Man this would all depend on classic style or new style. I myself like new and with a nice rod like that I would look at a nice Hatch or maybe one of the new Baurers. Classic I would choose maybe a Hardy Marquis or a Speyco.
I have that same rod and have used a 3-3/4" Hardy Bougle, 3-3/4" wide drum Uniqua and a Lamson 3.5 on it. The Bougle and Lamson balance very nicely on it. The Uniqua is a bit on the heavy side for it.
So I'm fairly certain I've decided on getting a Bauer for this rod, my next question: Which size should I be looking for? I'm not very good at balancing rod/reel combos yet haha.
