Anyone have experience with the new model Hardy wide spool Perfect reels?

Trying to decide whether to get the 4" or 4.25" size? They are both the same price.

I would use it on a 13' 7wt. Echo and need capacity to fit a 540grain Airflo Skagit compact head, 50 meters of OPST Lazar line and ample backing.

The Hardy capacity chart says:
4" model - DT9 + 165 meters backing
4.25" model - DT11 + 100 meters backing

Thanks!

I use a Taupo on my 7. 150 yes 30lb backing, 100 feet of Steve Godshall's running line, and 580 rage. it's tough tight with a skagit, but you could cut the running line or the backing a bit an solve that.

That said, I have a 3 3/4 older wide drum on my 8134. Balances nicely, and plenty of room for 190 yes 30 lb, 100 ft running line, and what ever head I want.

I realize those aren't the 4 or 4 1/4. but I think the 4 1/4 is larger than you need.
