Thought I would try my hand on my first shanked fly. I went with a 35mm SS Partridge V2 Shank, Dark Grey Rabbit, Copper Aqua Veil for the body, a bit of Gill Red Kraken and some Grey Rubber Legs. I don’t like the way the trailer sits with the rabbit strip. I’m going to have to use some braid rather that wire next time to do a proper twisted hitch. We’ll see how this does in the spring.

I don’t think so but I could be wrong. The big issue is with the trailing wire. I believe it’s too stiff to work with the rabbit and it’s preventing me from making a twisted hitch to secure it properly. I’m going to try it with some braid and see what happens.
