I was out testing to see if a line was a good match for my rod, and my dad snapped this pic:


Unfortunately, that's not my loop. It belongs to my daughter, casting with her left (non-dominant) hand up!

You guys are funny...but right. She definitely casts better than me when practicing, and as long as the casting position isn't too deep, when fishing too. She has a bit of trouble in places because she's not quite 5 feet tall.

I always have my kids go first when working down a run, and though they've each only hooked one steelhead, I have no confidence following them anymore. The run where Olga hooked her fish this fall, she definitely covered the water more effectively--better angled casts--than I could, while still fishing all the good water.

She may be less than 5' tall, but she stands much taller with casts like that. I hope the line works out - it seemed a good match. Let's get out and stretch it sometime...
