Ah, sorry I thought you meant Versi leaders. Getting 10' of poly tip out of the water with a 40+ might be a chore. You may need to go the route of an intermediate line all together. Not sure if you are trying to get that 40+ to be a one line does everything, I have several 40+ lines and they are a shooting head single hand line, not a scandi or skagit. I casted one overhead with a long poly but it felt too heavy, speycasting was fine though. Are you still thinking of using this in a lake? There is no 1 line for lake use. For the lakes I have 4 lines on spools and sometimes 2 rods ready to go if conditions require

The best distance line I have cast so far is the custom made Meiser scandi head that came with my 11' 4/5 switch rod with Miracle Braid as the running line. It can cast approximately 100 feet both overhead and spey style effortlessly. I haven't found anything that can touch it.

If that is the case, why not throw the work Sgs's way? If I get treated well somewhere, you can guarantee ill be back. I have never used one of Steves lines but from what I understand you can't go wrong
