The recent snow has me thinking about Mexican beaches. Which got me thinking about fishing the surf. Spurred on by another thread, I'm wondering what others are currently using for two-handed overhead rods on the beach. Multiple choices allowed.

Currently, I have a Beulah 11' that sees double duty as a big pike rod. Interested in also getting a 12' that would be a backup to the Beulah, and would see primary duty as a new Chinook rod.

I have tried my 13' as well as my 10'8" and my 11', settled on my 12' which is a bit more tip savy and also loads nice and deep. I think below 12' is getting short but above is too much to overhead for any length of time.

Enjoy anything that is fast action between 11' and 12'. I don't have enough experience in bigger surf to be able to give a better all-round opinion. My hunch is that I might want a longer rod (>12) when fishing open ocean beaches in more surf than I normally experience here (inside waters around Van. Island).
