Our rods and reels may have been left by the parking spot at 32km on the Copper river (Terrace). We had to take all the gear our of our vehicle at 32km, and then repack the truck. There is some chance the rods were set against the bushes.

We can provide a description and photos if you've found them or have heard anything. We'll be happy to offer a reward, and we would really appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Update

Went up to 32 and spoke to the guy fishing there. He told me there has been a note on the path in from Tuesday-Thursday this week from someone who found the rods. Unfortunately the note is no longer there. We left a note of our own, and the guy fishing there today told me the first three digits were 403 which are a southern Alberta area code. If anyone from Calgary hears about a couple rods and reels please send me a PM, thanks!

For all readers. 32 is garbage. Really just a spot to stop and have lunch. Oh and that's where the logging trucks (the road is overrun with them) throw their garbage so it's polluted with bears

I normally hang out in the HF&F forum, but I've been following this thread, and it's awesome to see all the helpful peeps.
Couple years ago, while scrambling through a nasty log jam, in very deep water, I found a Simms waterproof bag. It was the type you might carry a camera in it. This bag however contained a waterlogged wallet. An old leather, hand sewn wallet. This wallet also contained $500 cash.
I'm going to shorten the story and just say that I was able to return it to the owner. Turns out his late father had previously owned, and made the wallet. There's so much more to this story, but .....There's still good people out there, I'm feeling good karma here...
I know the pain and I do hope you can recover your gear.

Thanks for the help everyone. No luck yet, but keeping my fingers crossed. It's a good idea to check out the Copper River Motel - I'll head there early this morning hoping to catch people before they take off.

Thanks again.

A lot of fisherman stay at the Costa Lessa too, so you might cruise down the road a couple miles and poke your head in there as well. Maybe someone would have mentioned it to the folks at the front desk?

I suppose there's also a chance someone may have mentioned it to the folks at Fish Tales...so going in there and checking might be worth your time too. If anything you could maybe bring them in a note they could place at the checkout where somebody who found them may see it.

I just got a call from the Copper River Guardian. He told me he'll be asking everyone he sees, and they have data from most people fishing the river the week the rods were picked up. Turns out I know the person who manages the data, so I'll see if there are any "403" numbers in there that I can check out. Possibly getting closer!
