[CastAndStep]

Anyone cast this rod? Or any of the Metal Detector rods? Thoughts?

Would a Dec Hogan 2 8 weight be too close to the 510, and will they cast a longer scandi type line or only shorter shooting heads?

Have them and love them. Haven't cast a DH 2. Check out the info on the Deneki blog, there's a couple of articles about them. I've cast an AFS 7/8 on my 510 and it was ok. I'm not a great caster, so my experience is of limited value.

I think that they're great rods- lots of fun to cast and fish.

Where are you located in BC? Maybe we can meet up for a test cast. I believe they're a sponsor, so I can link to the site.

Thanks, I am a good distance from Vancouver but I appreciate the offer.

I might be able to demo it from a store not too far, so thats the route ill take. Seems the rod is a little bit too different to buy without trying. I did see some of the reviews floating around, other than that haven't heard too much about them really.
