Yeah, in this version its a banana yellow wing under and olive ving over. The original which i also use alot has a white underwing, chartruse middlewing and the same olive overwing. I tie them on shumakov long range tubes. My experience is that it works very well when the sun hits the river directly. Also have had luck when its foggy and flat light... Quite a contrast...
This pattern has been very successful with Cape Cod striped bass. It was one of my favorite patterns on Martha's Vineyard. Amazing how close your tube fly is to my patterns tied on 1/0 stainless hooks.
