Not sure if this is the best place for it, but I wanted to highly recommend this camera for general outdoor use. It takes great photos, decent video and is waterproof up to 15m. That and it can be dropped from table height Perfect for fishing, solved my wet hands after tailing a fish, then taking a photo problem with my old camera.

Lots of good scene modes and very easy to use. Also, great macro ability for shooting your favorite ties.

Olympus makes some well thought out gear, for sure.

I have the TG820, a less expensive point and shoot with a bit less luxury. What I especially like about their hand-helds is the ability to operate in still and movie mode with one hand and no reading glasses! If you have a thumb and an index finger on the same hand, you're in business.

I can shoot about 1-1/2 hours of hi-def video on a battery charge too.

I have the Olympus TG2. Photos are great, but video quality is horrible. I think people should look around if they're wanting to do any filming with this camera. Warranty is great though, I dropped mine on a rock and Olympus replaced the housing that was cracked, and even replaced the LCD screen in the back because it was scratched (wear and tear). But yeah, the video is really bad. Slow focus, horrible audio.

Video Not Bad

The video and audio is not bad with the new camera, just not Gopro. I like the convenience of having it. Slower to focus but still reasonable.

BTW, how did you post multiple photos in the post? Every time I tried it would kick the other.

Perfect timing on this post, I have researched point and shoot Waterproof cameras for weeks and just bought the TG3, as I didn't really want to bring my highend gear my trip next week to Christmas Island. It's glad to see some real world pictures using the TG3. If all goes well I will post some fish pictures when I return. Thanks!
