Glad that SW Oregon is fishing well. That is in sharp contrast to NW Washington. No fish up here at all. Not a one. Not even a whisper of a rumor of any being caught. Looks like everybody better head south!
Will be interesting to see how our winter run counts end up. With all the high water we've had even the fish counter at Goldrae dam was flooded out for about 2 weeks.
Fishing conditions couldn't be better now in the upper river. Dodge Bridge (about 15 RM below hatchery) was a tick over 2,000 cfs; Grants Pass another 15+ RM) was a three K cfs and a light green in colour.
But the current 'low number' really don't "count that much" as our winter fishery (top 30 miles above Medford) historically kicks into gear in March-May. Sounds a bit silly saying you're going winter steelhead fishing in May. But, that's the way it be.
