A great show for both fly tyers and casters. At any one time there were as many as 71 expert tyers showing their stuff, plus single-hand and two-hand casting classes.

One thing that I particularly appreciated was the one on one instruction opportunities afforded for casters (naturally for tyers as well). For example in "Casting Doctor" a contribution of $15 enabled the student to the undivided attention of a Certified Instructor for half an hour. In other programs there were two or three students for an hour and a half with a CI or Master CI or THCI.

The volunteers were numerous, well informed and enthusiastic. There was excellent vendor participation (although limited) with rods for both single-hand and two-hand anglers.

This is a must do show. Given a choice between The Fly Fishing Show or the NW Fly Expo, I would favor NW Fly, and I don't tie flies.

Dwight Klemin and Mary Ann Dozer did a terrific job of coordinating the education packages as well as teaching. Dwight also was president of the shindig.

On Sunday the show was closed, but there was an excellent continuing education program attended by 16 CI's, taught by Steve Rajeff, Al Buhr, Rick Williams and Brian O'Keefe.

More images from NW Fly Expo:
4. Mary Ann Dozer performing demonstrating cane rod technique. Mary Ann did a terrific job with Dwight Klemin planning the educational elements of the event.
5. Next generation tyers
6. List of 71 tyers simultaneously at work every hour of each day. Tyers worked in 3 hour shifts.

A bonus for CI's: Continuing Education
