Good conditions on the river today after last weeks winter weather. Air temp got up to 48 degrees but with calm winds it felt warmer. Yesterdays freezing rain brought the flow up to about 500cfs at the Pineville gauge. But I'm still just using the slow sink 2.6 ips polyleader for a tip.

I was swinging this 4" marabou cut-shank I call the "Green Lantern". I posted a photo SBS on how to tie it in the fly tying section earlier this year if anyone is interested in how to tie it. It hooked a fish briefly around 10am but couldn't stay connected.

I thought I was going to go home with a skunk today but at 2:30pm another fish smashed it and put up a great fight but no jumps in the colder water. A prime 27" female fresh out of the lake.
