I decided to try one of my larger 4" marabou cut-shanks today. I got tired of waiting for higher water conditions. Put on this "Lady Gaga" variation that caught some nice fish for me a year ago. Miserable weather today on the river. Wet snow/rain mix with air temperature steady at 33 degrees. The water temperature had dropped a degree from yesterday to 41.

I arrived around 9:30am and some other anglers in the area said it was slow. I tried to crawl the fly across the run as slow as I could. Around 10am a huge fish couldn't resist Lady Gaga undulations and slammed it. The fish made 2 or 3 surface plashes (not wanting to leap into the cold air I guess) and a long run downstream. The # 2 Octopus stinger hook did its job well and held until I could beach the fish. A 32" angry male. My "new best fish" of the season. I fished for another hour without further action and headed out.

Good thing you measured that one. Looked like a twin of yesterdays!

Congrats, wish I were still there.
