Looking for a opinions on both lines, like which one do you like better and why. I’m looking for a tips line for a Burkheimer 8142.
I have the same experience with them as you - I seem to loose or misplace them before they crack or wear out, and some have seen a ridiculous number of hours of use. Every once in a while, as with any tip, I will get unlucky and snag one wedged under a rock the wrong way, and have to retire it. But they are super durable. Might be a sign on not using a proper matchup at the junction, or possibly they were stored in a hostile envrioment like a hot trunk for too long. But who knows?Interesting comment on the Rio tips. My experience has been the opposite. I still have and fish some I’ve had for 10+ years. Perhaps I just don’t fish enough.
Exactly what happened this past Monday with the carron 85’ haha. I seriously thought about ditching heads because you really have to be attentive to how they swing vs integrated line that fishes for you in the same situation.Yes, a definite feature of the NC heads is the NEED to mend the butt end upstream almost every cast. Use one for a couple of weeks straight and you may have a hard time stoping yourself from doing that knee jerk style on a more gently tapered line. <img src="http://www.speypages.com/speyclave/images/smilies/chuckle.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Chuckle" class="inlineimg" />
