Winston had some rods at the Sandy clave. They had a prototype 14 8/9 B11x Spey rod which I tried. It will be out this summer some time. I am looking forward to try the finished product. I did not try the IBIS model. The catalog says it is 8 3/4 oz with a fast action. So many rods so little time. Jerry
I have the Ibis 6/7 and really like it. It's strung with the Windcutter w/ tips and I feel it casts well. I am new to the Spey game and I use it on our small rivers here on the N. Shore of Lake Superior and for casting at the river mouths. I have been looking for a heavier rod to use out west and the 8/9 is at the top of the list becuase of my experience with the 6/7, plus the price is reasonable.
