What I'm in the market for is a pole that is 12'-13' for a #8 line that has a quick middle tip action. The rod will be my summer and small stream winter pole so throwing the odd sinking head will be on the menu. Just thought I 'd ask here and see what others have tried and build a list of possibilites before I go out testing.

Thanks,
BWO

.02 cents here only as you didn't mention price point.

Several good rods in that length, line wt. How many 'dimes' do you want to drop? Makes a heck of a difference on the recommendations.

Hello BWO

Test the new Loomis GLX 12,6ft line8-9.
Is the best casting canone that I have ever caught in this size.
I test this rod only with shooting heads not with a spey line, but I am sure it will work also great with a Windcutter Spey.
Now I still waiting for my new GLX.

As for price I would probably prefer something that won't break the bank.Perhaps one of those rods that have all the attributes of a premium rod at a modest price.
