New Rio Spey Line & Scandinavian Head Data as of November 2003

Rio Products is to be congratulated for making detailed fly line data available to its customers. IMHO, we in the fly fishing community owe our gratitude to Rio for a level of customer service that places it at the top of the finest suppliers in the fishing tackle industry.

The data made available this month, November 2003, present far more information than previously published. Because of product improvements such as the new Tip-2 Compensator and Type-8 Tip-1, the possible number of Spey Line interchangeable tip combinations is more than doubled.

Those desiring Rio's latest Spey Line and Scandinavian Head data in a handy format can obtain it by sending an e-mail to:

[email protected]

The data is in Adobe PDF Acrobat files. You may download Acrobat free at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Please indicate the data you want: Spey, Scandinavian or both.

If requested the data can be sent as Microsoft Excel files. This will cause a delay.

The data is the property of Rio Products with full copyright rights reserved. The data may be changed at any time at the discretion of Rio Products. Many thanks to Simon Gawesworth and Zack Dalton of Rio Products for help with this project. The material is published by Bob Pauli with permission of Rio Products.

WOW! Tremendous data, Bob!

All of the grain weights and lengths for each section, including body sections for all Rio spey lines. Very understandable format. Excel spreadsheet. Let's me look at the grain weight per length to compare to other lines and helps with mixing and matching. Someday, when we can get this type of data for all spey lines, we'll be on the road toward standardizing sizes. Thanks to Rio for the data, and to Bob for assembling and formatting it!
