love all the great new options for trout 2 handers ! now if the line manufacturers would just make us more integrated line choices. trout love chasing the fly all the way to the rod tip way too much for all those loops !
(and way too many times in-out for a welded connection to last, imo)

The 1173-4 is virtually the same, but there is a hint more tip power. The rest of the rod is unchanged. The grain window on the 1305-4 is 350-400gr. A 350 scandi at 33' and it Rocks!

An early report from the Sandy Clave. Cast the ACR 1446 with a Vector 5/6 first thing this morning. Outstanding! Light, easy going, and gets past 100' without taking a deep breath or requiring much input from the caster. Just pretend you are trying to make a 50' cast but have a whole lot more line ready to shoot. ME WANT NOW. This could get expensive

anyone cast these new sticks at the clave ? thinking about the 1305 or 1445 for

I cast the 1446 at Sandy. I had been casting 15'ers a lot so it took me a while to back off the gas, but once I did that rod zinged a Vector 5/6 past 100' without taking a deep breath. I tried a Vector 6/7 but it was too heavy so I would call it more of a light 6 or 5/6 than a 6/7. Effortless casting and deep flexing. I'd suspect the 1445 is similar but a touch lighter. Super fun. I want one.
