I'm looking for tying instructions for the Motion Prawn, which, I understand, uses craft fur and a weighted bead imbedded in the body. Any help would be appreciated.

Have not tied one for awhile, so this from what I recall. Craft Fur tail. Stripes marked on with permanent ink marker. Under tail his a small bunch of crystal flash.

The body uses synthetic dubbing.

Use died golden pleasent for the matuka look it has. Just wrap a died soft hackle hackle in front of each stak of pheasant. The top wing is pheasant rum died black, with a couple of strands of holographic pearl flashabough.

Craft Fur, barred with Black permanent marker over Mirage Accent
Purple GP Tippet over Craft Fur

Butt: Pink STS Trilobal
Hot Pink GP Tippet over dubbing
Purple Strung Hackle—I like to use a hackle matching the butt color

Mid-body: Purple Hareline STS Dubbing
Purple GP Tippet over dubbing
Purple Strung Saddle Hackle

Fore-body: Purple Hareline STS Dubbing
Purple GP Tippet over dubbing
Purple Strung Saddle Hackle

Sorry, I missed the bead part until know.

I would slide the bead on up to the eye of the hook, tie your fly up to hackle and GP tippet in front of the middle body, tie off, slide the bead in place, and start tying the last bit of the fore-body. Just for my two cents for what it's worth.

Merry Christmas,

Tony
