on October 21st my husband - Chris Winkler, known as the 'local legend' to his friends - caught a 24 lb 8 oz Coho fully dressed out (gills and guts removed).

I figure the fish should weigh at least 26 lbs.

He caught it using a 14 ft 10 wt Daiwa Whisker, 15 lb leader and a 25 ft fast sinking shooting head.

I am curious to hear if anyone knows of a Coho this size caught on a flyrod in a river in Canada?

Now that was a true "Ms. Piggie!" Wow!!

Have you looked up the record(s) on this fish? Next time he pulls one of these out he'll need to get the fish weighed out asap. But record, or no, that would be one hell of a bar b q!!

Lived in Ocean Falls as a wee lad, still remember my Dad taking Cousin Pete and I fishing in the wooden rowboat. Rope tied around one kid, under the center seat, then tied to the other. 1944-5 Canadian version of a "PFD."
