I have never used mono running line before but just ordered one of the new OPST Lazar running lines in 50lb. test size . I the past I have always used a nail knot to attach the backing to the Airflo Ridge running line.
What knot works best with mono running lines?

Allbright is very strong and slim.

I've had no issues using the albright. I've used this knot with both Gripshooter and SA Mono SL. I coat the knot with Loon UV Knot Sense for more hold but in reality its probably more for my piece of mind. I also switched over from the Airflo ridgeline and am sure glad I did!

Why not a loop to loop connection?

I like loop to loop: Bimini in the backing, triple surgeon's on the slickshooter/mono.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm going with a "loop to loop" connection using a triple surgeons knot on both the Lazar running line and the backing as recommended by OPST company.

Double grinner or loop to loop.
If loop to loop: use perfection loops for mono and dacron, triple surgeon for gelspun backing.

triple surgeons on both should be no problem - this link should never be the one to fail anyway
