Hey all,
Does Meiser make 15' rods weighted for a 10/11 ?

Had a look on his website and could only see a 15' for a 8/9/10.
Thanks in advance

Yes the rating is for a genuine 10 but a XLT9, 9 ,10 or whatever

Thanks Willie, but still a bit confused!

I've had a look at the Rio spey line rating on Rio's website and Meiser's 15' appears to handle lighter rated lines than say the B&W, Sage, Loomis, Daiwa and Hardy rods of similar length and line rating.

What is the story with the XLT 9/10: would this be a heavier line than the Carron 10/11 75' head ?

Beaconbeige,

We have 5-15' rods for 2006, some not yet on my site.

We used the old XLTs/Grande Speys to benchmark all of their tapers.

The old 7/8 XLT for example is 880 grains at full belly weight.

Line numbers for Yank lines and UK lines can vary quite a bit.

This may help...

Highlander <> Grain Windows

15' 7/8/9 - 550 to 850 - Carron 10/11 wt 75'
15' 8/9 - 600 to 900 - Carron 10/11 wt 75'/85'
15' 9/10 - 650 to 950 - Carron 10/11 wt 85'/95' or 11/12 75'
15' 10/11 - 650 to 1050 plus -Carron 11/12 wt 75'/85'/95'

MKS
