Hi all. I am a new member to this forum and this is my first post. I have been a regular reader for the last half year.

My son bought me a Hardy line last week during a one week visit in the UK. He was supposed to buy a Hardy Mach I 9/10 (head length 47,5 ft, head weight 463 grains) intended for my CND Custom 8/9. Instead of getting the standard version Mach I he got a new Plus version that I believe must be brand new. This line has an extended belly compared to the standard version. I don't have the exact data for the line, but by measuring I found the following (approx.) characteristics: head length: 62 ft., head weight: 620 grains, ie. pretty much the same characteristics as the Midspey 8/9. We still have winter here in Norway so I have not tried it yet, but I think it would work well with the Custom 1308, and perhaps even better with the Steelhead Specialist, which is next on my buying list. The thin and rather stiff running line should make it possible to shoot miles of line.

Have any of you tried this Plus version of the Mach I line? Does anybody know the exact data for the line?

Hey speyfreak...

Welcome to the forum. I've been meaning to e-mail you but I have gotten fatter and lazier (if that is possible) over the winter and still have not gotten to it. Take care, MJC

Hi,

I´ve ordered the Mach 1 Plus as floater. I haven´t test this line, but I have the Mach 1 Intermediate Clear and Mach 1 Sink 4 for my #9/10 Rod (Guideline LPXe 14ft) and it is a perfect casting paket.

The Mach 1 Plus is not to be gotten at present in Germany. :(

Bye Carsten
