Several low line weight trouter 2handers.

You can actually get them as low as a 2/3. Hit R B Meiser's web site and Gary Anderson's (ACR rods). Rods come in at 11 to as long as 12'6''.

Also plug in trout spey in the search function above as there have been several threads that included information of the subject. Bye-the-bye they are a total hoot to cast IF properly lined.

Fred mentions two of the best!!

Angler's Roost have a number of very light spey and switch sizes as well. I also think that OPTST may be coming out with some micro-speys but not sure when - might want to contact them

ACR 2wt & 3wt are probably about the lightest. 3wt is about equivalent to a 5wt single-hander, 2wt I would guess to a 4 though I haven't tried that rod.

You might do a search on the site for the keywords 'micro-spey', 'micro-skagit', for some info about two-hand conversions of single-hand rods that are down in the real lightweight territory.

Your thread title made me expect to see something about ******* spey rods. Wait a minute...:smokin:

Tom Larimer demonstrated the new Winston trout (micro-) spey rods at the Sandy River Spey Clave this last May. But probably not "low class" LOL.

Gary Anderson's ACR 11'7" 3 weight, lined with a 270 grain SGS or Airflo scandi compact, is hands down my all time favourite rod -period. I love it. Super smooth casting rod. Killer grayling spey rod. :Eyecrazy:

Although, I am sucker for Winstons and would love to try the new 10'6" 3 weight and 11'0" 4 weight, primarily for overhead use in a boat and float tube. Would go nice along side my Winston Biix 690 single hander

Also currently using a Beulah 10'6" 4/5 weight, with a single hand 8 weight (210 grain) Scientific Anglers type 3 sinking line, and its a really nice combo for float tube work!

Anglers Roost has a 2/3 wt 11' blank that is likely very close to a single hand rating that is pretty wild. Mike McCune had one built up I tired that is a true trouter.

I have the 2/3 12 model that also is sweet but more backbone than the 11' rod. I use this rod as my go to on the Klamath and Grande Ronde but it does well with smaller fish - certainly will put a bend in the rod!!!
