I found her this afternoon but I can not say if it is truly love at first sight or it is just lust.

She could be love as she is oh so forgiving (something that is a necassity with my two-handed stroke) and smooth and I can feel her load and find her sweet spots like I have not been able to before. Within a couple throws, I had her punching 80' with little effort...

But it could be lust as it was a quickie and I could have been just hitting her right plus she was oh so easy, not always a good thing! And she managed to slow me down and let her do the work...I can be so quick and aggresive and thus collapse in an exhausted mess.

Have to get my mind back on the big picture...her beauty, her personality, her charcter and YES, her perfomance!!

She will be mine, for many, many years! :hehe:

Ryan, these people can probably help you. See URL below.

I thought you were talking about the newest "hottie" you encountered rather than perhaps a new fly rod you tried. My fly fishing dropped off in my early twenties due to chasing women, college, and business career. It was resurrected in late twenties.

Or come out to the great lakes for a steelhead trip and I will consult you on your issues. Perhaps I will let you teach me to indicator fish. But I cannot jeopardize my chances of entering the purist level of fly fisherman's heaven some day. You know I did stray for about 5 years when I did C+D out here to score consistently on great lakes steelies. But have reverted back now to purist techniques (sink tip, etc) for the last 15 years.

Hal-
I managed to keep my priorities straight...drop out of school and thus work fulltime in a flyshop and be choosey about girls as in search for one that enjoys flyfishing. The 'search' continues!!! :( Any leads????

DS-
Maybe we should let her choose who gets to cast her into the sunset...you never know, she could be very fond of me as well!!!

Ryan,

There are not many ladies that fly fish, but there are some these days, you may have a better chance then I did. 30 years ago when I was an eligible batchelor chasing women from NYC and Chicago the ladies wanted nothing to do with the great out doors for the most part. Married a chicago lady, who I tried to convert to skiing, fishing, tennis, white water canoeing etc.. I failed but we are still married after 25 years.

Good luck, I saw my first lady fly fisher who was fishing alone for steelhead this past spring up in Michigan. She had one big dog with her though. So more appear to be indulging in fly fishing these days.

I think the thought of bugs turns off a lot of ladies. Not to mention the other critters you meet on the stream, muskrats, snakes, etc....

Yep some water snakes, but back east lots of snakes of all types in the woods, rivers, and lakes. Less out here in the mid west though, thank goodness. Used to hunt them when we were kids, can you believe that, boys will be boys:devil:

Ahh Dana - you are right,

Ryan, heed the man's words - I am almost at 25 years with my lady - she doesn't fish. However, her suggestion for celebrating our 25th was to go visit Juro out at Cape Cod - so I could fish for stripers! That's what we're talking about.

Or I guess you could find a Goddess...

Yeah where is that web address, I lost it also. Read it last fall and then deleted it I guess. Now theres a catch for a young hard core steelhead fisher, except as I recall she also used spinning tackle, I would want a purist fly fisher lady. I wonder if that is possible, and one which would meet all of my other requirements ? Some how I don't think so.

I married a goddess but not a fishing goddess, but she still lets me go after 25 years of marriage.

I do wish I had all of the money I blew on the goddesses I drifted through prior to the final goddess though. Imagine how many spey rods I could but if I had the money that was lost on those investments when I was in my 20s ? And remember I was chasing NYC goddesses , much more expensive than your average goddess

Ryan is just jealous

He wants a woman like mine. She's great all the way around. Is even getting into flyfishing. Wants me to teach her to spey once I get it down myself. I get evil eye if I DON'T take her with me fishing.

Your time will come. Just be careful though. You'll rarely find one that loves sex as much as she loves fishing. I found one who loves both. So, keep looking. Your time will come. If not, at least find one who'll let you go fishing (my exwife would hound me for days after a fishing trip). I went from extreme one way to extreme the other. I like the exteme I have now. :hehe:

Ahem . . .

That's low, Kush!:D

I don't have her current address - she's abandoned thefishinggoddess.com because some guy was threatening her or something.

As far as I know, she's forsaken her evil ways :hehe: and toned down her act. As soon as she did that, she dropped sufficiently low on my Entertainment Meter that I didn't update the link to her new site.

You better be carefuly with that one Jerry - if you ever go Splits-ville she's take you for every rod and boat in your collection!!

As for me, I'll take one that lets me go fishing and likes the occasional ride (in and out of the boat). :chuckle:

Too much information!

And in front of Ryan as well. Tsk, tsk. And to think I have been trying to get him through counseling after the traumatic experience we had on the Sauk last year. Just as he is starting to get through the night without nightmares, you all go and open up that wound.

Its ok Sparkey, go back to sleep, she won't hurt you.

:hehe:
