Had my new Loop out at a clinic last weekend. It got dropped. Well, actually it got fell upon. Streamside mud left behind on the rocks by a falling river make for a dangerous combination for man and reel. So, man slipped, reel hit rock, man landed on reel on rock. Hard. Hard enough to make me certain that the reel was toast, and I haven't even fished it yet. I've seen this happen to other reels and they usually don't make out too well.

Well, the spool got a little scuffed, but otherwise it is still 100%.

This is one rugged spey reel.
