So far I have found that the new xlts are the higher rating of the old lines ie: the old 8/9 is the new 9, the old 7/8 is the new 8. As far as the Greasliners go the new xlt`s match the higher line rating on the rods ie: the 15ft 8/9 likes the new #9 and worked well for me with the old 8/9, this is my opinion of course, which with a quarter wont get you a cup of coffee . Hope some of this makes sense.
The match should come as no surprise. After all, they have a common denominator. Steve Choate, alias Last Cast Steve, was involved with both. To what extent, I can only guess. But I like the end results.
