Is anyone here throwing 10' of 500 - 1000 grain DWE / Dredger (17 - 33 gr/ft)? I would be interested to hear your ideas about line construction.

Application is small swift rivers, runs & buckets, and short casts (50') using 13-14' 7/8/9 rods

Steve,
you may want to try a clouser line or a pike/bass taper. these have short heads (40-50') and will turn over almost anything. of course you are into the running line quickly but for the short "bucket" type casts they are amazing. if you are using that much weight you may only want to overline it by one, i use less weight and go up 2 lines sizes on a 13' 7wt t&t and the turnover is impressive. these clouser (rio) lines come with loops on both ends which is great for heads and changing lines. give it a try.
