I,m evaluating some new lines ( by base line is an old style 8/9 XLT) and am curious if you have a set routine for evaluating a new line other than casts good/feels good. Say start with a switch/find a sweet spot and deviate from there to get a sense of the new line character- for example? or...... how do you proceed?

If you have nothing to campare a new line with, then it either works (for you) or it doesn't. If you do have a line to compare with, then the new line either works better, or worse than what you have. But, on the other hand, trying to compare a Skagit line to an XLT line is the old apples & oranges thing. Just depends on whether you prefer apples,,,,,or oranges.:chuckle:
