I'll need a new cape in the not so distant future. The last one I got was from the Estonian guy on Ebay and it was well priced for the quality. I checked Ebay again I see nothing for sale from Estonia. Looks like there is a seller in Massachusetts with some decent capes. Anybody purchase from this seller yet?

Hi Brady,

I think we should have a jungle cock hotline thread here so that when we are shopping we don't end up biding against one another. Does that sound reasonable?

Good thought there Ard.

If I had to pick 'just one thing' where you will mortgage your first born JC's would be close/at the top of the list.

Agreed...

A well-known vise maker gifted me a cape a couple years ago that must be seen to be believed. It is from a wild bird of decades ago... Better than Herter's "Model Perfect" or "Belgian Army Approved" capes they got put out of business over... The typical tiny feathers at the head are actually usable for smaller flies and the big ones are huge!

He said he had been hoarding it long enough and it needed to go where it would be used.

I haven't been able to force myself to pluck a nail yet.

In the early days of the Estonian guy selling on ebay I blew it one day and could have bought 16 mediocre capes for $.10 each! No one bid and I was fighting a glitch. A single bid on each would have been all it took.

Get it while you can!

I hear that there is going to be some hard times coming for J.C.

It is a cities species...maybe spelled that wrong? Site-e's. A bunch of seller's in U.K. and DK are finding jail time from what I am hearing...getting caught not telling the truth about sourcing legally farm-raised birds.

Mainly a rumor right now, but I think it is going to be like saddles in the next little bit here.

I actually don't tie with it a ton. Mostly put nails under glass on custom rods I do for people from time to time.

Time will tell on this one.

Guy in MA

I actually bought a grade A cape from the guy on Ebay from MA. Cape came really fast and is good quality. It actually came with a business card for Cote's Fly Shop in Leicester, MA. If you would like his number send me a PM.

As a side note i am in no way affiliated with this seller, just a satisfied buyer.
