I don't know a lot about intruders either but I do know I've seen ed ward tie one on a tube on one of the SM videos and as far as I know it looks like it has all the elements to call it one... Either way it's something I would tie on with confidence and it's very rare I have confidence in tubes!

What's really funny is the thing is so balanced I seriously doubt it would sink hook first! if anything its actually balanced right in front of the read wing, and that's with a damn 2/0 hook I had, gonna pick up some 1/0 instead, and some 2" tubes! Thanks for the vote of confidence my friend!

Awesome fly. Call it a tube or an Intruder, either works. My two favourite steelhead colours combined in one fly. Nice work!

I think that is good to add some weight in front of fly but I not think that very preciously balance is necessary. simply we have current which has maybe even bigger influence on position of fly .
