Hey guys,

the back end loop of my Rio Steelhead Scandi that I have on my 6 wt switch has cracked, just below the loop weld. I've cut that portion off. Is there a good welder out there who I could send my line to...with $10 or so, who would weld up a beautiful-durable loop for me.

It would be greatly appreciated.

What ES said. Have him put a loop of his elf running line in for a loop and you'll have something way better than the factory loop.

I've not had much luck with welding pvc lines- rio. Only poly.
Steve has told me this as well. Hope someone has found a way...

Otherwise I would probably either use a braided loop with a coating of sealant OR 30-50 lb hard mono with a nail knot and sealed with a double or triple surgeons. I like to double over the fly line under the nail knot if it's not too thick for better hold. Pull it really tight, glove recommended.

Either way at least it doesn't sound like a total loss.:)

I'll do it for free, Keith, takes less than 5 min.
Do you still have my address from the Nextcast swap thread?

Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope too, that would make it super easy for me OK?

Pulyurethane coated running line welds to PVC base coating exceptionally well, and overall a lower temperature is required.
