Looks like I am going to miss the Kaufmanns Spey Days and the Seattle fly show this year afterall. Family obligations won out, I tried like hell even bought airline tickets as if to will it to occur but reality has to set in sometime and as Leland pointed out to me today "it's about the only one you've (I've) missed".
So to show my regret, I prepared the long-belated slide show of pictures I took at the last speydays, just to prove how disheartened I am about this whole affair. Not really, I have been lucky to have experienced such events over the last year, it's a celebration of images from last year.
But in card games when the final hand is dealt they say "read 'em and weep", that about sums up my feelings. I hope everyone goes and has a fantastic clave; please extend your warmest welcome to Nobuo who is flying in from Tokyo to attend. The cast of people coming from around the world is very impressive indeed, and in an area where the locals are among the most skilled and experienced spey casters as well.
What an event! I will not miss it next year, even if the timing does conflict with family events.
Please throw a left handed reverse snake roll with for me, my thoughts will be with you guys!
