$%&#@*&^$#!

Looks like I am going to miss the Kaufmanns Spey Days and the Seattle fly show this year afterall. Family obligations won out, I tried like hell even bought airline tickets as if to will it to occur but reality has to set in sometime and as Leland pointed out to me today "it's about the only one you've (I've) missed".

So to show my regret, I prepared the long-belated slide show of pictures I took at the last speydays, just to prove how disheartened I am about this whole affair. Not really, I have been lucky to have experienced such events over the last year, it's a celebration of images from last year.

But in card games when the final hand is dealt they say "read 'em and weep", that about sums up my feelings. I hope everyone goes and has a fantastic clave; please extend your warmest welcome to Nobuo who is flying in from Tokyo to attend. The cast of people coming from around the world is very impressive indeed, and in an area where the locals are among the most skilled and experienced spey casters as well.

What an event! I will not miss it next year, even if the timing does conflict with family events.

Please throw a left handed reverse snake roll with for me, my thoughts will be with you guys!

Juro-
Your visits are always highly anticpated and I always look forward to them...you will be missed.

And one note to the readers...the river is NOT going to be nearly as low and clear as it was last year (the river was very very low at that time of of year as shown in the slideshow pictures).

So you mean the fishing (the river is open this year) will be good too? Waaaaaah.... waaaaaaaaaaaah

:hehe: ;)

I'm going to pay the penalties and switch my tickets to come out when I can... better than throwing them away.

Maybe when the smells of spring sweetens the valleys and the big and the bad are finning in the spring flows from the Cascades to the Olympic Peninsula to the Columbia tribs.

Or perhaps when the vine maples are ablaze in the crisp fall air, the blackberries are fat and sweet and a floating line is all the options one needs to hook their share of summer steel.

It's hard to resist the call of the saltchuck when hordes of silvers are riding the tide swells from Tatoosh to Clallam Bay.

I will be ready for some hardcore schnauzering, make up session is going to be intense.

Thanks for the kind words Ryan, I have a feeling this year's speydays is going to be huge. Please take lots of pictures for this years slideshow.

Sorry to read that you will not be sharing in on the gathering(s).
I guess I will not "Hook up" with you in the PNW, so I'll have to "Catch" you somewhere on the Cape this fall.

Geez Juro, hope everything is OK with your family. I was hoping to show you what I had accomplished with the overhead cast, Guideline shooting heads and my Talon Midgar rod. Actually things are looking kind of iffy for me if I don't find a babysitter. I'll figure out something.

Sean, was hoping to give you a first hand report on the polyshoot XT.

Bummer.

Juro,

From your slide show, picture 115-1583_IMG is of me standing there with my mouth open, wearing the outback hat wannabe. I'm sure my mouth was open for the whole two days, which sums up how amazed I was. Could you email me a file of that Photo? Maybe in photo shop I can close my mouth.

Great slide show ... even recognize where I..

took the dump and did a half mile float with 4 foot of snow on the ground and water temps in the high 30's. Was 'interesting' driving home in just my shorts and a towel wrapped around my middle.

"Self" was talking to "Self" asking: 'And, lets go over this again. What are we going to the the WSP officer if we get pulled over??'

No Juro!?

Total bummer, dude! Especially considering that I just installed custom leather, electrically heated, with "magic" massage, seats into my sled. NOT!!! It won't be the same without you, but we'll let you slide this year...

Riveraddict,

These airline tickets are non-refundable but I can pay the diff to use them at a later date (hint hint).

Get those heated seats in and I will be back out in April

thanks just the same,

Juro
