Two people thats not much of a meeting.:chuckle:

Me and Wilson met at the Rappahanock River for some shad fishing,Sunday the 22nd. Had a great time. Caught alot of shad. I got some pictures of Wilson with 1 of his students. A guy liked the way the spey rod cast with so little back room. Wilson was giving the new guy some tips and let him cast his pole a few times. If he picks up the spey rod it will be another person addicted to the spey fishing.:D I got to cast a Snowbee 6\7, great little rod and it felt really light. It makes me want to buy another spey rod. I have been biten by the spey bug.:hihi: Hope to do something similar to this in the future. Hope next time hope to do better planning and get some more people to come out and join the fun. I had to be home by a certain time sunday and that always sucks when it comes to fishing.

Ok, to all the guys\gals here around Virginia and the surrounding states let's try to keep the Mid Atlantic Spey going. We can do a few gotherings each year. Have some fun and catch some fish. That unless the MidAtlantic Spey name is already taken. Then I will have to come up with another name. Ok, have to run, hope to get some feedback on this if anybody is interested.

MidAtlantic

The Rappahanock was a bit of a run for me from central PA but will make it to northern Maryland's Deer Creek this Wednesday to fish hickory shad. We'll keep trying and sooner or later we can hook up for some spey fishing somewhere. I know of two other spey rodders here in the Harrisburg area at least one of whom is retired like me and can travel anytime to fish if given enough notice so we can share a ride(save gas $).

I think Dan and I hooked one in that nice gentleman from the tidewater. I think I see another membership in the offing.

It was a nice day for sure. Met up with some fellow Speypages bretheren, stabbed a few shad, and got some speycasting practice in as well.

Thanks for the meet-n-greet Dan. Will fish with you anytime.

I'll be up on Deer Creek this weekend. If you're out there and happen to see some fool slinging a double handed Shad rod around that'd be me.

I am back

Sorry for not answering sooner but it seems like I have been haveing a run of bad luck.
Every thing is going down.:(
Computer broke down, car broke down, work has slowed down and hurt my shoulder from falling down on vacation and spent vacation recoperating from a hurt shoulder. Now I am back working a little trying to get shoulder back in shape and looking forward to catching up on everything that I have missed in the last month here on spey pages.

Hey Wilson
Enjoyed the get together and maybe next year we can do the same. I can't wait until striper season starts in October so I can get out there and play with the stipers some with the spey rod.

Richmond Spey

I live in Richmond. I wanted to get to the "mid-Atlantic Clave" but had a conflict. I've been using two-handers for several years now and have fished with them for Atlantic Salmon, Chum Salmon, Searun Browns, Hickory Shad and trout (hope to use my Meiser 4/5/6 floating the James for smallmouths this summer)--also have used switch rods for tropical flats species. I took an all-day casting lesson this Spring with Andrew Moy in N.J. and found it to be very helpful, but the interval between fishing sessions has been so long that I'm afraid much of it has worn off. I'd be interested in a Mid-Atlantic get-together.

get together

I am waiting for striper season to start in Oct. I own a kayak but can't launch it on the parkway. I am going to use my spey rod to fish for stripers this coming season. I live in Williamsburg and the striper season is pretty good when they are biting.
