I guess I'm too new at this to post on the Rods forum, so I guess I'll have to ask a question, maybe for the moderator?
I have a Sage Graphite IV spey rod, a 12'4" 8wt. I've had it for a couple decades. I've heard there's a Sage spey rod called a "Brownie."
Could this be a "Brownie?" Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the Speypages :)
In truth, I am not familiar with Sage rods at all.
Maybe one of our other members here will chime in ...

All the early Sage two-hand rods (pre-2000 or so) were brown, but “brownie” as a colloquial term is applied more often to their 4 pc traditional rods than their faster 3 pc “European” tapers (like the 8124-3). Eurobrownie? The 8124 is a really nice rod.
