For Sale is a 2008 Jacks Plastic/Black Bear Steel framed pontoon raft....anchor/air pump included.
(optional trolling motor & battery.)
It is beefy, solid and heavy-duty---- but also extremely safe and stable.
Ive done some testing on it to make sure of this!
This picture is me about to head out into lake michigan in January.
Ok.........let me walk you thru it:
First: Seating. The cooler-seat you see on the left ----now has a folding seat identical to the one you see in the rear.
That seat--- is optional and removable. Can fish 1 or 2 people.
The trolling motor/battery you see is now a 2012 minn kota 40 lb thrust.
There are 2 heavy-duty zipper completely water-tight gear pouches to hold your fishing stuff.
Each pouch is big enough to hold about 12 cans.
Tons of room in this boat...esp. if fishing solo.
It is certainly at or above the quality level of a skookum. Did I mention durable?
Without a doubt the most indestructable pontoon you'll ever see in the great lakes.
Suitable for class 4. Bought it out west. Been on lake michigan in the waves and wakes without worry.
12-foot Black Bear pontoons--- never been compromised. Rated for 550 lbs.
Valves have been lubed --- no grit in the nipples
Tight as a drum.
Coated twice per year with 303 U.V. Protectant.
Double-reinforced skid patches underneath.
Includes a 20 lb pyramid & 5 lb chain anchors. 45 foot kevlar anchor rope. no silicone required in winter.
8 1/2 foot heavy duty 3 pc. carlisle oars (w/oar-rites.)
Includes manual air-pump, patch kits, and 5 extra straps.
Frame is steel; its heavy. the blk/grey graphite powder coating is now flaking and chipped in spots/scraped after repeated use.
Frame includes a removable front section that holds the second seat.
In the picture, My foot is perched atop that removable front steel section.
Ive built a custom rubberized non-slip folding wash-deck to allow STANDING while fishing on large and turbulent waters.
This boat will allow you to safely STAND and fish; Ive done it many times and its completely stable due to its size and stature.
Its been fishing in the big lake, st. marys river, muskegon, manistee, etc.
Serious inquiries only.
Will work with you to deliver, assemble and test-drive if you'd like---- this will involve you bringing some craft beer along!
Lets try to get a spot within a 3-hr drive of the Chicagoland area.
Im in the southwest burbs.
Disassembling the frame is a bit of a pain and I avoid it.
Fortunately, the frame squeezes (just barely) into most minivans if the seats are removed.
Frame is 54"x 71"
This boat retailed for $2600---- in 2008.
Bought it in excellent condition for $1500 ---in 2009
Now that its used, you get it for $550. FIRM.
No trades.
Buyer pays paypal fees if applicable.
**Bonus**:
40 lb. thrust minn kota trolling motor (not pictured) in excellent condition
I had a custom built 10-foot chord made for it.
(this way, you can have the battery box stowed fore-ward; out of the way of the aft fishing anchor-works area.
A good deep-cycle marine plus battery/box (about 25 hours on it)
AND minn kota battery charger
..... i will throw it all in for $100 !!!!
While its certainly got scuffs and buffs, the integrity is 100% .
It is an aircraft carrier.
Ive had my 2 young children straddling this thing down midwestern water in total confidence.
These days, regrettably its not getting all the adventures it used to.
I assure you ----that this will be a very good value for your investment.
You younger anglers on a budget looking to get the most bang for your buck-- should expect to have it for life if you take care of it.
