My wife asked me a question.
Other than shop owners how many people own more than on Speyrod.
I said I know just who to ask.
How many???????
Next how many do you use.

I have three at the moment but only fish two of them. One exclusively for summer fish and coho, the other exclusively for winter fish, chinook, and chum (it is used on the Thompson though). I haven't fished my Sage 9140-4 in over 4 years. I keep it because my wife likes it, although she hasn't fished that much the last couple of years, she seems content to watch our boys, ages 11 and 15 fish. I think it has to do with the 11 year old wanting her to watch him casting, which keeps her from fishing.

My 15 year old son has one as well, I got it for his birthday in May of this year. I want 3 more, actually 4 more if someone would make a 17 or 18 ft fast action 11 weight (blanks are OK if any rod manufacutuers might read this).

My wife knows that I want 3 more and which three they are. Maybe she will buy me one for Christmas.

Can a person have too many 2-handers?

Just trying to show Fred that there are other crazy people out there. :hehe: The fact that I have to think about my quiver is a bad sign... 10 in all with 2 more by year's end. Depending on where I am fishing will dictate how many toys get used. Usually 3 or 4 get the lion's share.

However, looking forward to one more week of fishing this year and I plan on using nothing but cane and silk!!!

Newbie to spey so I have only one.

Have 10 single handers, I wonder if some how I can justify to my wife that spey rods are different than single handers ?

I own 3, use #1 (8150) and #2 (7136) often. #3 (9140-3) was procured for a song, in the quiver, though rarely if ever used as my "winter fish up north" rod. Interested to try the new multi-piece T&T 14' #9

2 rods a 14' an a 15'. Looking to add one more. The opportunity to cast many rods and line at the Skykomish clave was a step in the direction of making the tough decision on which will be my next rod.

4, but the lighter ones get most of the water time (6126, Orvis 1267). The 9140-4 (Green) gets the winter nod, but sometimes I get the urge to go big, long, and deep(er) and the 10160 sees the light of day.

I own 3 Spey Rods right now(just sold one). All 3 are Loomis GLX's, 15' 10/11, 14' 9/10, 13'8/9. The 15' i do not use much right now, The 13' is my favorite for floating line Summer run fish, The 14' will throw any sink tip i have put on it, I will use it more as we go in to the winter months. Tight lines, brian:devil:

I have seven (one of the perks of bachelorhood). A few are redundant and/or less suitable than intended replacements. All have been used and are valuable learning aids. A few are loved.
I also have a recently acquired antique greenheart, which isn't really a practical fishing tool, but which has been a show-stopper whenever displayed. More on it later.

I currently have 1 Rod - A Sage 9141-4 setup with a Rio Windcutter

After the nano-clave, I am convinced I need a fast action 15/16 to pull sink tips out of the water. I'll put a mid-spey or XLT line on the Sage for low/clear water fishing.

Cheers,

Michael

Rods

I dont own enough but my wife says I own too many? I just ask her how many pairs of black pumps she owns and then let it fly for there:hehe: Currently I own two spey rods and I am looking at buying a third. Probably going to go with a Burk or the old standby Sage in the 7136 or the 7141!
