i just ordered a triangle taper for my tfo 12'6" 8 wt and was wondering if any one has tried this it is the salmon sink tip version in the size 8. i hope it will workit is 120 feet long whit a 80 foot head and a sink rate of 3 - 5.5 ips thanks for the input and tight lines brownie1013

I would be almost certain that the TT8 Spey would be lighter than I would choose for the TFO 8. It will be OK if you can cast with most of the head out the tiptop. I like the TT Spey lines, but they are pretty light, especially for shorter casts. On my 8/9 rod, I used a TT9, and it was on the light side, and on my 7/8 rod a TT8 is also a bit light. You may prefer underlining rods, however, and it could work well for you.
