Doc,
Bruce and Walker made many different model of the !5ft.
The Walker action was for sunk line work therefor a bit stiff.
The Bruce action was some soffter and made more with a through actionl.
Post what is says on the bottom of the rod and we can go from there.
Most of the actions were a bit slow by modern measures but no slower than most.

:)

BRUCE AND WALKER HEXAGRAPH

DOC,
Sorry that I did not answer sooner but some Searun Cutthroats need a house call.
This is what I have on the B&W Hexagraph Walker
15 footers.
There three basic models made in various trims and finishes.

Hexagraph 15ft. HD Walker DT 10 For autumn/spring water this is a firm favorite. On the Reed with sunk lines and heavy tube fly; the roughest conditions possible-this rod will cope with ease. A powerful rod, but enough feeling in the butt for Spey casting and overhead distance casting. I have seen a northern ghillie win distance casting at the Moy Show with a DT 10 line of 50 yards. Joe Brandy of Fiddichside Inn who ghillies the Spey, was one of the first to choose this as the rod for him and he can be termed a real "Spey man".

Hexagraph 15ft Walker 10-12 A rod with more through action than the HD model. Still a powerful rod and will again cater for all fishing conditions as well as summer fishing, using sunk or floating lines 10-12. Will fish tube flies in the heaviest of conditions more than adequately

Hexagraph 15ft. Walker 9-11 This rod is slightly easier still than the Hexagraph Walker 15ft, therefore it becomes a summer/spring rod. Given to Spey casting again, but errs to the traditional style of fishing. A much slower rod and easier on the body and energy.
