I read a lot about Burkheimer rods on the forum and had a chance to cast one this sept on the Deschutes. Unfortunately no one in NY retails them and the Burkheimer web site has been under construction for a while. Are there any retailers online who at least have some basic info, available sizes and price info ?

Hi Gillie,

Go to the website and get the number and call him. His website should be up pretty soon.

Yhea I know I can do that but I just hate to ask him to tell me about every rod he makes. I'll just have to be patient.

as of 2003, this is a list of available spey rods that Kerry B. sent me.

7125-3 = 12' 5" 7wt.
7133-3
8133-3
8139-3
9143-3
9149-3
10135-3
10150-3
11150-3

There might be others as well. Certainly a ton of single handers, too. And there are additional spey designs that he rolls for other people but aren't considered "his" babies - excellent nonetheless.

Gillie,

Call him and ask him to email you his list. It is quite long. He also has 4 piece rods. I cast the 7125 last week. It was sweet!

8128-4
7135-4

Have not had a chance to cast any of these yet, but he did let me wiggle the 9145 a bit :)

Give him a call...

Kerry is a wealth of information and is very easy to talk with. I will second that the 7125 is a sweet rod. Great for the Grande Ronde and capable of handling a lot more than its rating would indicate.

The new 4 piece rods will be sweet. The 11'5" sounds interesting.

Anywhere I can find a BUrkheimer catalog or a picture of Burkheimer rods? Their online catalog is down and my email to them bounced back.

Thanks,
Zach

they used to have a small color brochure describing their speys. Call them to request it. This is a shop with 2 people, the owner plus one. A phone call will get attention, an email won't.
