Ian Gordon has another on line petition going. This time he is petitioning the Scottish Government directly,
"Jan 3, 2015 — Dear Wild Salmon Supporter
Many thanks for signing my Change.org petition a year ago – which called on the Scottish Government to prevent the resumption of salmon netting in the early spring. We gathered over 20,000 signatures and this contributed to the Scottish Government’s intervention to stop any netting before April. I have now launched a new petition (to stop any killing of wild salmon before July), designed to build on the momentum of this petition. I have lodged it with the Scottish Parliament petitions website simply because, with enough signatures, the Scottish Parliament's Petitions Committee is obliged to publicly examine and investigate it and then make appropriate recommendations to the Parliament. The easy option would have been to lodge another petition here, but unfortunately this would not automatically trigger Scottish Parliamentary investigation. I'm sure with all of your help and that of Change.org, will make a real difference.
The new petition (with full details) is at http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/GettingInvolved/Petitions/PE01547 I really hope that you will be able to sign it, thus maintaining the pressure to improve further the conservation and protection of our iconic wild salmon.
My thanks for all of your support.
Best wishes for the New Year.
Ian Gordon
Lets get this done folks, Just click the link and sign, Brian
